Advice service funded by HACC to provide advice to pensioners and elderly on home maintenance, repairs, renovations and upgrades. A Co-Ordinator will organise a home maintenance service by ensuring work is carried out by reputable trades-people at a reasonable price. The purpose of this service is to provide support, security and safety to the target group - people who are frail and ageing with a disability and their carers.

Services provided: Transport - Car (reserved for social and Health Professional appointments). Bus (A full time driver providing a extensive service which includes: social outings, shopping, day care centres, regular service to hydrotherapy pool at Latrobe, trips to various Senior Citizen's facilities) Also provide minor home maintenance. Trains and matches volunteers to the target group. Volunteers provide companionship and may accompany clients to shops, doctors and so on.

I recently had a 5 day holiday for a family get together, and I had a friend from Sydney stay in my unit to look after my cat as I could not take here with us. Sadly, one of our neighbor's put a note on her car window, that she was not allowed to park the car there, and that she had been reported to Department of Housing. the spot she parked in is a spare spot, and not parking has been officially allocated to tenants. I spoke to dept of housing about this, and was told it was quite ok for me to have a visitor stay, and for them to use that car space and that they would notify all the tenants of this. But to date nothing has happened, and I have another trip away coming up soon, and really don't want this to happen again. Any advice would be appreciated.
