Rushcutters Bay Day Centre
Offers a day program/respite service for those who are frail aged, still living at home. Socialisation and outings are provided. This service currently has one dementia specific day but are gearing towards becoming a fully dementia specific service therefore all new intake will be from those with diagnosed dementia. The Centre operates Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 9am to 4.30pm. Transport is available to and from the centre but the bus cannot accommodate wheelchairs. Those attending the centre must be socially continent.

My mum suffered a stroke in July and is currently in Woy Woy rehab centre. They’re hoping she’ll be home in 5/6 weeks. My dad is looking for someone to come in the mornings and evenings to help with mum. We are looking at between 4-6 hours per day. We’ll know more in 5/6 weeks as to the role itself but it’s standby assistance.
